Gig economy

Gig economy refers to a development in which temporary work (gigs) is becoming more common. The trend towards a gig economy has already begun. A study done by Intuit predicts that 40 percent of American workers will be independent contractors in 2020, which means that they will not be employed by a company. Digitalization drives the gig economy, insofar as the workforce is becoming more mobile and work can be done from pretty much anywhere. The “Gigger” and the companies meet on a global market where supply and demand meet.
